Children ages 7-11 are in their prime learning stages, developing traits they’ll carry with them the rest of their lives.  As a parent, you want your child to succeed in life. You have highs hopes they will become happy and productive people once they’re out on their own. And most likely, you want to provide them all the opportunities and resources you can that will help them accomplish these goals. We believe in all of these too, we want to help your child feel empowered, through their every thought and action, to achieve them.

Be a Black Belt in Life

Our Youth martial arts program provides a fun, exciting, and focused atmosphere for children to learn a solid foundation of martial arts techniques. Physically, a student will learn coordination, movement, balance, and intensity through their introduction to the basic blocks, strikes, kicks, and stances. We strongly emphasize that martial arts is to be used constructively, reinforcing respect of the craft, and not to be used for play at home or in school.  A student’s journey to Black Belt begins at the White Belt level, so it is here that we begin to emphasize Black Belt life-skills, such as focus, confidence, and discipline. More importantly, we explain the importance of how these life-skills relate to home and school, as well as training in the dojo so that we can help build Black Belts not just on the mat, but in life.

Life Skills for Success

It’s not all punches and kicks in our dojo. We believe in rewarding student efforts with positive reinforcement, encouraging them to do their best. At this young age, confidence and discipline are everything. It’s vital they learn to communicate and interact in a group setting to develop skills they’ll use every day in their future. Students also receive one-on-one focus to identify and encourage proper technique. By focusing energy into their training, children learn vital life skills and are more likely to go on to become successful into their teenage years.
